Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction With Modified Remnant‐Preserving Technique: A Sleeve‐Like Membrane Suturing Method for the Tibial Remnant

Abstract Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction with modified remnant‐preserving technique refers to an approach adopted during surgery to preserve the tibial remnant of ACL. In arthroscopic ACL reconstruction, the ACL remnant and excess synovium are removed to obtain a broader surgical field of view typically. However, it is shown that preserving the tibial remnant and fixing it around the graft can protect the graft and promote vascularization and ligamentization. This technical note describes the modified remnant‐preserving technique for the ACL reconstruction, in which the suture was used to fix the sleeve‐like tibial remnant around the graft to promote vascularization and ligamentization of the graft.
